CI/CD & DevOps Engineer

Date: May 19, 2026

Location: Wallisellen, ZH Zurich, CH, 8304

Company: stadlerraiP

Short Description

We are looking for a motivated and technically strong CI/CD Developer to join the Simulation and Tools team at Stadler. You will design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to support simulators and testing tools. These systems are primarily built using Python, C++, and PLC-based environments.

This role offers the opportunity to further develop DevOps practices in a safety-critical context. You will interact with requirement management tools, software quality platforms such as SonarQube, and infrastructure and security solutions to ensure robust, traceable, and compliant software delivery.

Your work will cover the entire CI/CD lifecycle—from defining requirements and implementing automated workflows to integrating build, test, and deployment systems across heterogeneous environments. You will also manage virtual machines (e.g., using Proxmox), support software license management (e.g., SonarQube), and ensure secure remote access via VPN and PAM solutions. You will help ensure compliance with safety standards such as ISO 50573 (T2/T3 levels).

Equally important is producing clear and comprehensive documentation to ensure that CI/CD systems can be reliably maintained, audited, and scaled across the organization. You will also support and guide teams in adopting best practices.

We are open to candidates with a range of experience levels, from strong recent graduates to experienced engineers. What matters most is curiosity, initiative, and a passion for automation and software quality.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with clear business impact.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes across software and embedded systems.
  • Manage and operate virtual machines (e.g., Proxmox).
  • Integrate and maintain code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube), including license management.
  • Provide and maintain secure remote access solutions (VPN, PAM).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and pipeline configurations.
  • Ensure traceability, reproducibility, and compliance with safety-related processes.
  • Write and maintain documentation (designs, workflows, operational guides).
  • Collaborate with development, testing, and system engineering teams.
  • Monitor and improve pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability.

Your Profile

  • Proficiency in Python and automation scripting; experience with C++ is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox).
  • Familiarity with code quality platforms such as SonarQube.
  • Experience with secure access solutions (VPN, PAM).
  • Solid understanding of Git, Docker, and build systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Interest or experience in safety-critical or regulated environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a quality-driven mindset.
  • Excellent command of English; German is a plus.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to build expertise in CI/CD for safety-critical systems.
  • A technically challenging role combining automation, infrastructure, and system integration.
  • Work with modern tools in complex and heterogeneous environments.
  • A collaborative environment with flexibility to explore and implement new ideas.

How to Apply

If available, please include links to GitHub projects or other repositories that demonstrate your CI/CD, automation, or infrastructure skills (e.g., pipelines, VM setups, DevOps tooling). We are especially interested in your approach to automation, pipeline design, and problem-solving.

We look forward to receiving your complete online application.
